Ingredients- 1 Kg Potatoes, peeled
- 375 g Smoked cod
- 350 g Cod, haddock or salmon (or a mixture) and a few large prawns
- 1 Onion (Chopped)
- 2 Bay leaves
- 3 Peppercorns
- 300 ml Milk
- 75 g Butter
- 1 Tbsp plain flour
- 125 g Frozen peas
- A little lemon juice
- Salt and pepper
- 150 ml Double cream
- 50 g Cheddar or similar cheese
Directions- Preheat oven to 180 degrees C
- Boil potatoes until tender. Drain and keep aside in a covered pan
- Meanwhile, place fish, onion, bay leaves and peppercorns in a pan
- Add milk, simmer until tender
- Remove fish, strain keeping milk for sauce
- Flake the fish discarding skin and any bones. Keep aside.
- Make white sauce using 25g of butter, the flour and the milk from the fish (slightly cooled).
- Add fish and peas to the sauce
- Make the mash adding 25g of butter and the cream to the potatoes. Season.
- Spoon the fish mixture into a large ovenproof dish, top with the mash
- Decorate top with a fork and sprinkle with the grated cheese
- Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes until hot andgolden
- Serve as it is or with broccoli
