Ingredients: - 500 g Cooking apples, peeled, cored and chopped
- 500 g Pears (firm), peeled, cored and chopped
- 2 Tbsp Granulated sugar
- 450 g Crumble topping
Method : - Preheat oven to 200c
- Put apples in heavy based pan with 125ml water. Cook and simmer for 5mn (or use 50ml water and microwave for 2mn)
- Drain apples (reserve the juice to make a syrup for extra moisture and sweetness), add the pears and sugar. Mix well and put in 23cm ceramic flan dish.
- Put crumble topping over the fruit (Morrison's oath cinnamon crumble mix is particularly good and cheapbif you're in a rush).
- Bake for 35-40 mn or until crumble is golden. Serve hot with vanilla ice- cream, custard, crème anglaise or cream.
- To make syrup, add a couple of tbsp of sugar to the apple cooking water, simmer for a few minutes until it has thickened a little.
